Call for Papers
The Society of Migration Studies (SMS) is a non-profit and
non-governmental organization based in Pakistan. SMS was founded in 2010
and since then has developed two research centers i.e. “Centre for
Ethnic & Migration Studies” and “The Punjab Resource Centre”. SMS is to
publish its first ever biannual “Journal for Ethnic & Migration Studies
(JEMS) with aims to conduct/facilitate research and to provide a
platform to university students, independent researchers and policy
makers working on the ethnic and migration related issues globally.
The editor-in-chief of JEMS welcomes proposals for articles/research
projects for the forthcoming special volume due in November 2011.
Students, academics and independent researchers are requested to submit
their papers or projects before 15 July 2011.
The sub themes of the journal are as follow:
* Voluntary and forced migration
* Human trafficking/displacement
* IDPs’ in internal conflicts’ situation
* Identity crisis amongst the refugees
* Host-stranger conflicts
* Rehabilitation
* Refugee sex workers
* Post migration crises
* Repatriation ( voluntary & forced)
* Refugee rights in host states/communities
* Ethnic, racial and communal issues in a migrant society
