Regional: Jordan, Syria and Iraq Livelihoods and Protection Workshop
- Mitigating Risk of Gender-Based Violence: Implementing Economic
Programs as a Tool of Protection -
June 20 - 22, 2011 in Amman, Jordan
Join the Women’s Refugee Commission for a workshop for economic, food
security, gender-based violence and other interested staff from
governments, donor agencies and NGOs working in Jordan, Syria, and Iraq.
Participants in the workshop will acquire knowledge and hands-on skills
necessary to implement and evaluate economic programs aimed at reducing
displaced women’s vulnerability to gender-based violence. The workshop
is limited to 25 participants.
This is a participatory three-day workshop. Participants will learn how
to develop market-oriented, context-specific strategies for safe,
self-reliant livelihood programs. The workshop will include practice
sessions and will help in adapting participants’ project work plans. A
joint action plan to support collaboration and coordination between
participants will be developed. Participants will have continued access
to the Women’s Refugee Commission’s staff for technical assistance
through 2011.
There is no fee to attend the workshop. Participants are expected to
cover their own transportation and lodging costs.
