I was fascinated to learn by chance this morning of the existence of
both a "Laboratoire d'Analyse Statistique des Langues Anciennes" in
Liège, Belgium, and a "Laboratorio Informatico per le Lingue Antiche" in
Pisa, Italy.
I wonder what other institutes or centres are out there that are
specifically focussed on digital or other quantitative approaches to
Classics/the ancient world. I've started a category for such
institutions at the Digital Classicist wiki
<http://wiki.digitalclassicist.org/Category:Institutions>.
I'm thinking in particular of institutes or centres that focus on
Digital Classics as a significant part of their brief, so a general
Classical institute such as the CHS or ISAW, or a general Digital
Humanities centre like CCH or IATH probably don't belong in this list,
even though both might do significant work in digital classics among
other things.
What other centres are there out there? Please feel free to add them
directly to the Wiki or to send the info to this list, and someone will
add it.
Thanks,
Gabby
