It would have been interesting for one of the TV channels to have had an
archaeologist or anthropologist commenting on the material culture of
the crowds, as it was we just got Simon Schama on how delightful
monarchy is.
Still, as the Pistols once said "Never mind the ...here's..." news of
academic interest in a really meaningful cultural event - the Eurovision
Song Contest!

No mention of archaeologists being involved but I did notice that the
original conference from which this project "developed" seems to have
been organised by an archaeology department in Greece.
I hope the Morris in Wotton were enjoyable, Mark. I'm still nursing
