For changing the dotted lines: the E and R keys control their position. I think that translates to the contour level controls in multidimensional spectra.
I have not seen the issues with 1D peak labels that you describe. In a quick test it works fine for me, even with the latest version 2.2.1. Are you sure that those are really small versions of the labels and not still the default dash that shows up in the absence of an assignment?
