The Computing dept. at the Open University has a fully funded full-time PhD studentship available from Oct 2011.
Possible topics include the following:
Computational Musicology
Music Generation (including issues of narrative)
Music for Games
Musical Pattern Discovery
New Digital Musical Instruments
Collaborative Music Environments
