As a follow up to the BISA training day in Glasgow I have written some notes relating to my talk on embedding metadata using BWFMetaEdit:

I've also put together some notes introducing the Windows Command Line:

Delivering the talk and the Q+A session that followed allowed me new insight into the possibilities for embedding data using the BWF aXML chunk. I was heartned by the entusiasm with which the embedded musical notation was received. I spent the weekend working on a prototype for a bwf/wav data extraction tool. I managed to knock together a crude but effective tool for extracting musicXML using PHP. The next stage is to combine this with some kind of playback/display mechanism. I'd be keen to take this work further. Whats needed is a project to hang the ideas on. If anyone has ideas for some kind of collaborative project or available funding stream let me know.
With regard to the Command Line tutorial I'd be happy to write a follow up and maybe put together a list of command line audio tools. It'd be good to get some feedback on this. Contact me directly or post something through jiscmail.
Best Wishes
Mike
