Dear All
Following my message in April regarding the Adlib user group, I have now set up a new Jiscmail discussion list called Adlib-users. I am most grateful to Katie Giles (Archivist Kingston University) and Pamela Birch (Conservator/Premises & Projects Officer Bedfordshire & Luton Archives & Records) for agreeing to share ownership of the list with me.
The intention is not to replace the Adlib user group (whether it still exists, who knows!) but to provide a forum for the sharing of information, handy hints, examples of best practice and anything else we want to talk about. In the first instance the list will be public, which means that anyone can join. The advantage of this is that we shouldn’t have to spend a lot of time administering the list, the downside is that we’ll need to remember that the list is public and that if we are really unhappy with any aspect of Adlib’s service then it’s best to take it up with them directly. I will let Adlib know about the list and I hope that staff there will feel encouraged to join in the conversations.
Anyway, I am a complete novice at managing a list so if you notice anything not working as it should, please let me know and I will do my best to put it right. You can join Adlib-users in the usual way via Jiscmail.ac.uk
Many thanks
Helen
