Dear Colleagues,
apologies for cross-posting.
I am a PhD student at the University of Brighton’s Cultural Informatics Research Group (http://culturalinformatics.org.uk/).
My research focuses on the effectiveness of ICT for public presentation in Museums and Cultural Heritage sites. As well as attempting to understand the visitors' point of view, I am interested in investigating the expectations, approach and use of technology from the perspective of museum managers and curators.
My research also investigates the relevance of culture in influencing the expectations and use of ICT: last year I surveyed twelve of the most relevant Museums in Japan, to understand how ICT was used and the approach of managers and curators toward it.
Now, as I am back in the UK, I am carrying out a similar survey of British museums and heritage sites, to compare the two cultural perspectives.
I would like to survey as many museums and heritage sites as possible. If you would like to participate in the survey please contact me and I will send you more information.
The results of the survey will be shared with the participant museums.
Best regards,
