This full time post is available from 12 September 2011 and will be offered on a fixed-term contract to 31 January 2012 to cover AHRC funded research leave
Applications are invited for the above post based in the Department of German Studies at the University of Nottingham, which is one of the leading German departments in the UK with an excellent track record in teaching and top ratings for research (ranked fifth nationally in terms of research power in RAE 2008, and 5* in RAE 1996 and 2001).
The successful candidate will provide German language teaching, as well as non-language modules based on their areas of expertise. They will also share in the academic administration of teaching in the Department.
Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) and experience in teaching German language at university level to native speakers of English. They should be able to provide research-linked teaching in non-language modules in the Department's undergraduate syllabus, and also qualified to contribute to classes in the taught German MA programme.
