Applications are invited for a position in Statistics, at the level of Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer as appropriate to qualifications and experience. Appointment as a full Professor will be considered for extraordinary candidates who may have wider research interests than those listed below and who can provide academic leadership in their specialist field. The Institute of Information and Mathematical Sciences (IIMS) is a multi-disciplinary research and teaching Institute within the College of Sciences at Massey University, Auckland incorporating Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Technology. It has 35 academic staff and a very strong postgraduate school.
Candidates for the Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer position should have excellent academic credentials and be building an international reputation in any area of Statistics. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the Institute's research outputs, to attract research grants, to teach at any level as may be required and to show leadership in the Statistics programme. Duties include teaching and administration of undergraduate papers in Statistics as part of a teaching team. The Statistics group at the Albany campus has research strengths in applied statistics, especially in the areas of biology, ecology, health and the natural sciences. The teaching programme caters to students in these areas and in business, engineering, psychology, economics, finance, and other disciplines.
