Dear all,
This is just a reminder about the meeting next week:
Tuesday, 24 May 2011 - Recent Advances in Capture-Recapture Methods
*******************************************************************
A meeting of the Reading Local Group and the Department of Mathematics and
Statistics, University of Reading, 9.15am-5.30pm, Madejski Lecture Theatre,
Agriculture Building, Whiteknights Campus, Reading University, UK
This one-day meeting focuses on novel ways to model heterogeneity in capture
probabilities. The role of sampling, the contribution of prior covariate
information and the importance of sensitivity analyses will be discussed.
Also, new capture-recapture applications will be introduced.
Speakers:
Professor John Bunge (Cornell University, USA): Population size estimation:
The fundamental role of Poisson sampling
Professor Marco Alfò (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy): A regression
estimator for mixed Binomial CR data
Professor Peter van der Heijden (Utrecht University, Netherlands): Invariant
populations size estimates and the roles of active and passive covariates
Professor Luca Tardella (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy): Likelihood and
Bayesian alternatives for behavioral capture-recapture and near and far
departures from it
Dr Maarten Cruyff (Utrecht University, Netherlands): Sensitivity analysis of
population size estimates based on a zero-truncated count variable
Dr Irene Rocchetti (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy): Incidence and
prevalence estimates for a rare disease: retro-hazard and CR techniques
Dr Rachel McCrea (University of Kent, UK): Estimation of population size
when capture probability depends on individual states
Rattana Lerdsuwansri (University of Reading, UK): A lower bound estimator
for the size of a shared population
The meeting will be preceded by a workshop:
Monday, 23 May 2011 - Estimating Population Size with CatchAll
