Job Purpose
At Leicester we're going places. Ranked in the top 12 universities in Britain our aim is to climb further. A commitment to high quality fused with an inclusive academic culture is our hallmark and led the Times Higher Education to describe us as "elite without being elitist".
Applications are invited for a new post in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) sponsored by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated researcher with a background in medical statistics/health economics or related discipline to carry out work in exploring alternative methods for evidence synthesis for estimating effectiveness in HTA. The work will include reviewing guidelines for HTA from organisations worldwide and applying the alternative approaches identified to case studies. It is hoped this work will inform the debate as to what evidence is relevant for estimating effectivenss in HTA and influence future HTA guidelines.
This opportunity will see the successful candidate join a successful and dynamic research team while applying their analytical skills to important real-world issues. It is also an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and analysis skills in estimating the effectiveness of health interventions and take the lead on producing high quality, high impact outputs.
