The MRC Biostatistics Unit is one of Europe's leading biostatistics research institutions and is the base for the Cambridge MRC Hub in Trials Methodology Research (HTMR).
A new 5-year statistical research post is now available to undertake statistical design and analysis for a programme of trials focusing on the use of antibiotics for treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). This programme consists of six work packages, including three randomised controlled trials (RCTs), for which you will act as trial statistician. Duties involve contributing to the design, monitoring, analysis and reporting of the studies.

There are several areas of interest to the Hub; for example, adaptive designs, Bayesian methods, missing data and non-compliance, meta-analysis and evidence synthesis. You will be encouraged to collaborate closely with other statisticians at the Biostatistics Unit in one or more areas of methodological research.
