Dear SPMers:
We tried to calculate parametric image of dopamine transporter binding by SPECT and TRODAT under SPM8.
Every case had both SPECT and MRI images.
We had coregistered SPECT image to his own MRI images and then normalized SPECT images to MNI space by DARTEL toolbox: normalise to MNI space and related process.
We also made mask for cerebellum that served as reference region by MasBar.
We wondered how to further calculate parametric BPND image of each SEPCT?
Some reference, as "The application of statistical parametric mapping to 123I-FP-CIT SPECT_NeuroImage 23 (2004) 956-966" suggested using "Proportional scaling which scales each image appropriately to a reference region".
Another reference, as "A novel computer-assisted image analysis of [123I]β-CIT SPECT images improves the diagnostic accuracy of parkinsonian disorders_Eur J Nucl Med Mol Imaging (2011) 38:702–710" suggested using "mask" method to calculate such.
However, we had several questions regarding these 2 methods:
1. It seems that "Proportional scaling" function was found in the "global normalisation" item when building up the statistical model and "explicitly mask" was option of "Masking" also when building up the statistical model. How can I do both before building up the statistical model?
2. Is it possible to calculate parametric image by "imcal" function of SPM?
Thanks for any help~
Sincerely yours,
David
