You can use dicominfo (MATLAB command) figure out the protocol name and sort them. It's simply a for-next loop with a call to dicominfo for each dicom file then move them into different folder.

Subject: [SPM] Split Dicom folder
Hi SPM users
I have a set of DICOM files from multiple series in one folder, and I would like to organize them into separate folders based on the different series (mprage, bold and so on), I can do this in Dicomviewer with the tool export Dicom series, but I'm not working on windows, I would like to know is there is a similar tool for ubuntu.
Thanks a lot,
Best regards,
Carolina
