Subject: Women's choices and healthcare cost
A colleague will be undertaking a debate with a consultant obstetrician next week regarding Women's choices in childbirth and the cost to the NHS. If you have any specific evidence or information on this topic, it would be much appreciated. It is my understanding that there has been little work to date on the cost savings of MLC. We know that MLC reduces intervention, therefore should it not follow that MLC is cheaper.
I look forward to your responses.
Thanks
Sheila
