There is little time to resolve/understand issues that have only just become apparent. If we knew all problems in advance then we would of course give more notice. We also have a number of bank holidays coming up which will mean lower attendance in coming weeks; we would rather try to have the discussion sooner rather than later even if some people can not make it. If we can resolve the remaining discrepancies for one site it will likely resolve it for the others.
This meeting is not off the usual schedule for (as) many people now as the core operations team (who are supposed to attend every week) extends to over 8 sites including Oxford. On 5th April I also suggested that while we transition to the GridPP4 mode of operating everyone might like to attend weekly anyway. All that aside, I agree that it is generally better to give as much notice as possible so that people can prepare. I also realise that some people are already on leave from today.
