Ideally, the segmentation is supposed to give pretty similar results
irrespective of the image type used. Of course, these are likely to
depend on the image contrasts, noise, artifacts etc. There is nothing
in the algorithm that is specific to T1w images.
There may be some slight systematic biases when segmenting various
image types, and it is difficult to anticipate what these are likely
to be prior to actually analysing a dataset.
