We are seeking applications for this key leadership post, arising from the restructuring of University Campus Suffolk (UCS) to best position the institution in the wake of its new Strategic Plan following the arrival of the new Provost, Professor Mike Saks. The appointment will provide inspirational leadership in teaching and learning, research and consultancy in their field and will ideally be made at professorial level.
UCS is one of UK’s most exciting higher education institutions launched in 2007 in collaboration with the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex. UCS provides a friendly, can do, innovative and ambitious environment for staff and students. Working with partners, it is focused on making a high impact at local, regional, national and international level. The post is based at the stunning waterfront campus in Ipswich.
The appointee will promote student satisfaction, a research culture and income generation. Heads of School at UCS have significant authority and are members of the Executive Team – with substantial responsibility for budgets and developing their School's academic profile, not least through interdisciplinary working.
The successful candidate will be highly credible in their subject area and have an excellent record of academic leadership, teaching and learning, research and income generation. Proven success in securing external funding and meeting targets is essential. Candidates should ideally meet our criteria for professorial appointments or will be expected to do so in the near future.
