Apologies to those I managed to confuse in my previous email!
If you search www.legislation.gov.uk citing 1947 as the relevant year, all you get is the Act for Scotland. And if you delete the year you get a list of Town and Country Planning Act but with none from 1947. However, there really was such an Act that year and you will find it if you check the printed Chronological Table of Statutes. It was, I think, wholly repealed before the Statute Law Database was set up which accounts for its non-appearance on www.legislation.gov.uk.
