********************************APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING***********************************
The Public Sector Group will be meeting on May 18th at the Westminster Archives Centre in London and on May 26th at the DVLA in Nottingham. The agenda will be identical on both days and can be found at http://www.irms.org.uk/groups/local-government/meetings/942. Both meetings are being sponsored by AI Automated Intelligence.
The theme for the day is Records Management in an Electronic Age.
The day will open with a presentation from Jon Garde who is the author of MOREQ2010. I was privileged to hear Jon speak at the IRMS Conference where he unpacked the reasoning and timeframe behind MOREQ2010 in a vey comprehensive and understandable way. The DLM Forum is due to meet just prior to the meeting so there also be news hot off the press about the development of MOREQ2010.
This will be followed by a presentation from Alison Gibney from CIMTECH entitled Records Management for a Diverse Digital Landscape. Richard Jeffery Cook (Inform Consult) will wind up the day with a session on implementing records management in Sharepoint 2010, an activity which seems to be exercising many of us across the public sector.
There will also be the chance to present questions to a panel and a presentation by the sponsor.
There will be an update on accreditation by the IRMS at the London meeting, as two members of the Accreditation Committee will be at the meeting.
The Public Sector Group is open to all members of the IRMS and anyone else who is interested. The meeting is free of charge. As numbers may have to be limited due to the size of the venues, preferential booking will be given to IRMS members until 2 weeks before the event when it will be opened up to all other interested delegates (non members may register an interest in attending the event, but their places will not be confirmed until May 4th).
