The Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC, Tenerife, Spain) invites
applications for ONE post-doctoral position in Astrophysics to work with Dr.
Nicolas Lodieu on the characterisation of substellar objects at very low
temperatures using datasets obtained with the VISTA telescope.
The successful candidate will be based at the IAC's headquarters in La Laguna,
in a stimulating and keen working environment. The IAC is one of the leading
research centres in Spain covering theoretical and observational research and
instrumentation across most areas of Astrophysics. The successful candidate will
have access to all telescopic and supercomputing facilities in the Canary
Islands, including the 10.4m GTC, as well as to other Spanish facilities, ESO,
ESA, and IRAM. The successful candidate will work within the VISTA Hemisphere
Survey Ultracool Dwarf consortium that the IAC is coordinating.
Remuneration:* *The gross annual salary is 32.886
Duration: 1.5 years, renewable if funding permitted
