Thanks, Barry. Yeah, it's a big deal. Jack Hanley is a highly respected gallerist. In recent years he has also championed Barry McGee, Emily Prince, and others of the so called Mission School in SF.
For me, it is important because it expands the audience (Jack also does the Fairs), and ideally I can get drawing and book curator folks from MOMA, Morgan et al to see and take interest in the work. They do not wander west much. Yes, Ruthie B was a great place to start.
And given a City with a zillion artist, I feel very lucky to have something happen so quick. I must have a young place in my pens!
Be well,
Stephen

Stephen,
I've casually studied over a period of at least 40 years the varied attitudes of artists based outside NYC towards the value of a NYC gallery show. So I wonder how you regard your forthcoming exhibition?
I would say that Ruth Braunstein's exhibition of your work in San Francisco strikes me as more prestigious because of the major figures she has shown and represented over a distinguished 50 year career as a gallerist. But I note within Jack Hanley's "stable" the artists Bill Owens and Erwin Wurm--perhaps he'll introduce your work to a different client base. And NYC writers will be able to see your haptics in person, perhaps for the first time. Hope it works out well for you.
