I think that ’standard’ EAP provision can be quite costly for an organisation as, typically, take up rates can be very low and some EAP providers don’t do a very good job of publicising the service they provide, taking the opportunity to earn the per capita fee without having to do a great deal of work.
Increasingly, organisations are using our services (and those of our competitors) on a case-by-case basis; this would seem to be the way forward, particularly in these straitened times.
