Re Celebration of work of Mildred Blaxter

number of travel grants available for doctoral students and early career

Celebrating the work of Professor Mildred Blaxter, 1st June 2011, The
Watershed, Bristol, 10-5pm. www.watershed.co.uk
There are a few places left for this one day meeting to celebrate the
distinguished sociologist Mildred Blaxter, who died on 29th August 2010.
It will focus on the implications of her work for future social
scientific research in the fields of health and medicine with brief
presentations on: The private Mildred; The Aberdeen Years; Health
Capital and Health Inequalities; Biography, Biology and Time; Research
Methods; and Mildred's role in academic publishing, mentoring and
knowledge exchange.
Speakers include: Rose Barbour, Mike Bloor, Mike Bury, Bill Bytheway
Kathy Charmaz Hilary Graham, Mike Kelly, Raymond Illsley, John McKinlay,
Wendy Stainton-Rogers, Clive Seale and Hilary Thomas .
