What is involved?
If you express an interest in the study, you will be required to participate in a 30 minutes – 1 hour telephone interview where a researcher would talk to you about your views on ICT, exploring the views and opinions older people have surrounding ICT abandonment.
Who do we need?
We are looking to recruit older adults (over the age of 55 years old) who have partially or completely disengaged with ICT (mainly, the study examines computer usage, but I am also interested in mobile phone, radio and digital TV usage).
What is the purpose of the study?

The study aims to provide data to feed into the overall Sus-IT project.
Who are Sus-IT?
Sus-IT is a research project funded by the New Dynamics of Ageing (NDA) initiative, the largest research programme on ageing ever mounted in the UK. Research under the New Dynamics of Ageing programme will impact on policy decisions and scientific, technology and design choices that will make sure that older people will enjoy better quality lives.
Who is carrying out the study?
This research is being carried out by Faye Hodges, a research assistant working on behalf of the Sus-IT project.
What will happen with the information collected?
We are required by the Data Protection Act (1998) to tell you what we will do with the information you provide. Your information will be kept strictly confidential and will be used only for the purposes of this research. It will not be passed on to any third parties and any interview recordings and transcripts will be stored in a locked filing cabinet. No personal details about you will be included in the project report.
