> The theme of the conference is "Opening Up Government - Do Information Professionals hold the key to the door?". The event will include presentations on professional skills in a time of change and the future of shared services. In the afternoon, there will be the opportunity to attend two breakout sessions on either technology channels, professional skills or managing change. The keynote speaker will be Annie Mauger, the new Chief Executive of CILIP.

> The event will end with a short drinks reception (sponsored by the Financial Times) which includes a raffle draw.

> The conference is being organised by the Committee of Departmental Librarians (CDL), Government Information Group (GIG) and the Network of Government Library and Information Professionals (NGLIS).
