Ona 0.24 sytem:
[root@td008 ~]# rpm -q --whatprovides 'perl(Compress::Zlib)'
perl-IO-Compress-2.024-1.el5.rf.noarch
[root@td008 ~]# rpm -q --whatprovides 'perl(Compress::Raw::Zlib)'
perl-Compress-Raw-Zlib-2.024-1.el5.rf.x86_64
On a sytem on 0.33:
[root@td007 ~]# rpm -q --whatprovides 'perl(Compress::Zlib)'
no package provides perl(Compress::Zlib)
[root@td007 ~]# rpm -q --whatprovides 'perl(Compress::Raw::Zlib)'
perl-Compress-Raw-Zlib-2.033-1.el5.rf.x86_64
I came from 0.24 last "needed" version... and update from that
version is direct to 0.33. I do use local repos wich don't follow ALL
updates, so, maybe, updating from 0.24 to 0.33 is trough 0.30.
My case:
[root@td007 ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Scientific Linux SL release 5.3 (Boron)
[root@td007 ~]# rpm -qa|grep perl-Compress
perl-Compress-Raw-Bzip2-2.024-1.el5.rf.x86_64
perl-Compress-Raw-Zlib-2.024-1.el5.rf.x86_64
[root@td007 ~]# yum update
[...]
Updated:
perl-Compress-Raw-Bzip2.x86_64 0:2.033-1.el5.rf
perl-Compress-Raw-Zlib.x86_64 0:2.033-1.el5.rf
Complete!
[root@td007 ~]# rpm -qa|grep perl-Compress
perl-Compress-Raw-Zlib-2.033-1.el5.rf.x86_64
perl-Compress-Raw-Bzip2-2.033-1.el5.rf.x86_64
so, my sytems, with a regular update, goes from 0.24 to 0.33.
(my workaround was excluding perl-Comp...0.3* from dag repo).
Does it make sense to you?
Cheers,
Arnau
