I'm wondering how easy it would be to create a hands on element to the
training where people could have a go at creating records, and then were
able to go to another page and check their test records against some
correctly formatted ones/see where the differences occurred. I have had
a go at this myself using titles on the LC examples, creating an RDA
record, and then comparing it with the LC ones!
Would people find this kind of 'test' setting useful if it was possible
to set up?

Yes, lots of examples, perhaps some practical hands-on element to the
training to allow people to have a go - putting it into practice is an
important part of the learning curve for me. Would also be useful to see
the differences between formats (ie books, DVDs, journals).
If the training materials could then be made available for people to
cascade through their own institutions, that might be a big help in
reducing costs in constrained times.

From my own experience/preference I'd suggest something with lots of
examples where AACR2 and RDA are shown next to each other for easy
comparison.
