Sorry, just catching up with this now.
It occurs to me that it would be possible to use the eforum style to do
some practical work. Just as the LOC had a set of core examples that
everyone used, with enough time to copyright clear title pages and
versos, we could set up for print materials quite easily. I'm sure that
Helen at Facet Publishing would be quite friendly about letting us use
Facet's title pages and versos, for example.
For non-print materials it's a *little* harder, but I guess we could
suggest titles that we'll all have a go at and then give a long period
of time to acquire them if necessary???
Then in the forum, we could split the two days into, say, 10 time
sections, and people could share their records and then discuss them.
So, for example, we could all share record 1 between 9-9:15, and then
discuss the variations from 9:15-10:00
I think key things about RDA are local decisions about options and
cataloguer judgment, so different places may have different-looking
records that are still "right" under RDA.
By the end of the 2 days, we would have produced ten records and
discussed the differences between them, which would be helpful for us all.
And if people don't have access to RDA, they could do their best from
the drafts or just spectate / comment / ask questions.
Just an idea.
