First Call for Papers
1st International Workshop on Mobile Work Efficiency:
Enhancing Workflows with Mobile Devices
To be held during the 13th International Conference on Human-Computer
Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services:
MobileHCI 2011, 30 August 2011, Stockholm, Sweden
This workshop will be a forum of multi-disciplinary discussion on how
mobile devices can increase perceived work efficiency, as well as how
this subjective enhancement can be measured.
Submissions are invited on the following topics:
* Research on how mobile devices can increase perceived work efficiency
* Contextual analysis, evaluation methods and tools how to measure
perceived work efficiency with mobile devices
* Persuasive strategies of how to foster perceived work efficiency
* Future mobile devices (e.g. wearable displays) and interaction
approaches to enhance perceived work efficiency
* Creating a common understanding and perspective of the challenges
related to perceived work efficiency and mobile devices in various
contexts (e.g. office, factory)
* Propose perspectives on how to address these challenges in future
research and development of interactive systems
The one-day workshop will include presentation of each participant’s
contribution, break-out sessions on specific sub-topics, and concludes
with a group discussion.
We will select participants with academic and industrial backgrounds
based upon the relevance, insightfulness, and originality of their
submissions by a peer reviewing process.
Submissions are expected in the form of position papers (Mobile HCI
Extended Abstracts format, max 4 pages), describing the area of
research, specific work (empirical or theoretical) on the workshop
topic, and the innovative character of their research.
Submissions can be made by email to
