Network Coordinator (Part-time: 14.4 hours per week)
Salary: up to £24,370 per annum (pro-rata)
The Complexity Science for the Real World Group (CSRWG) is an innovative networking project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to develop and promote the application of complexity science tools and techniques for tackling major societal challenges.
The CSRWG network brings together four projects funded under EPSRC’s Complexity Science for the Real World theme; ENFOLD-ing, ERIE, SCID and The Care life Cycle. The network aims to synthesise the knowledge gained from the four projects and to disseminate it to those involved in the creation of public policy, as well as to the wider public, ensuring real world impact. The network will also aim to be inclusive, creating a wide CSRW community and enhance the communication between the four projects, providing a forum for the discussion of common tools, techniques and issues.
We are now looking for a Network Coordinator whose role will be to drive the collaborative relationship within the key projects, while successfully promoting network activities, project outputs and coordinating further research opportunities.
Knowledge of science communication and demonstrable experience of arranging conferences and workshops, publicity, the use of electronic media, and research project administration would all be advantageous. The post is expected to be available for three years starting in June 2011. There is the possibility that the position could be combined with a part-time PhD.
CSRWG is collaboration between The Care Life Cycle Project at the University of Southampton, ENFOLD-ing at University College London, ERIE at the University of Surrey and SCID at the University of Manchester.
