Dear LIS-Linkers,
We're currently reviewing the security arrangements for our 24/7 library, and I wondered if anyone would share their 'overnight security' practices and experiences with us?
It would be particularly useful to know what sort of 'security' presence is felt to be appropriate when there are no library staff on site - how many people this might involve, whether these are University staff or contracted to security firms (perhaps with an idea of which is more successful and cost-effective), and whether anyone opens their library overnight without any staffed presence at all? It would also be useful to have an idea of context, so please would you include a brief description of your Library?
Please feel free to respond on or off-list, and if there are enough comments I'll circulate a summary.
Thanks very much,
Stephen
