Thanks Celine
Has anyone used the VLTS sandbox, and if so do you have any comments about how helpful it has been to you?

Subject: Re: Vendor supplied records
On the general topic of LMS/OPAC etc, I wanted to point out a really great project that Alan Danskin mentioned at the Exec Briefing.
http://www.dlib.indiana.edu/projects/vfrbr/ The Variations project at Indiana University has created a test catalogue to look at the FRBR conceptual model, since there isn't currently a "live" OPAC anywhere that is fully FRBR-ised.
There is also the VTLS RDA sandbox - you do have to pay $60 for access til the end of July but it is worth mentioning as a full library system environment which allows libraries to create MARC records using RDA, special documentation and 250,000 linked FRBR-ised records http://www.vtls.com/services/rdasandbox
One of the frustrations is the lack of examples of OPACs or resource discovery tools that actually use some of the new RDA features. I have yet to see a good example of using the 336-338 fields in display in some way.
