Dear All,
I'm really pleased to share that on April 1st our latest guerrilla geography children's books were published. Following the success of our first Mission:Explore book, Mission:Explore on the Road and Mission:Explore Camping both include 50 challenges that encourage explorers to experience and think about the world in new ways. Just like with the first book the activities can be done in most places from back gardens to exotic forests (you don't have to camp if you don't want to).
The books encourage critical and creative thinking. Among other things there are missions to:
- Save an endangered word
- Meet using your psychic skills
- Redesign streets
- Antenna walk
- Explore by wheelchair
- See something unsustainable
- Get lost somewhere you can't get lost
- Go on a sense expedition
- Play high visibility hide and seek
- Make a tiny map for a tiny person
The books are available in some Waterstones shops and online through Amazon.
The Mission:Explore series is written by The Geography Collective (see what we're doing here http://bit.ly/foRVEF) and published by Can of Worms Kids.
If you get a copy of the books we hope that you enjoy them. They may even be useful for some of your teaching / reading lists. We do hope that they engage more people with geography in new and positive ways. Any comments that you have are very welcome.
Many thanks,
Daniel
