I asked some time ago about whether libraries offered a scan to email service and if they did, whether a charge was made for the service. I only received a few responses as below - thank you to everyone who did respond
Cambridge University Library
- Scan to email. Charge is made
City of Glasgow College
- Offers scan-to-USB and scan-to-email through photocopiers. No charge is made
University of Glamorgan
- Installed multifunctional Printer/Copiers with a third party accounting software Pharos installed on the actual device.
The devices can Print/Copy and Scan, students and staff can scan directly to a University Email address as PDF or Jpeg formats. Copying and printing is chargeable but not scanning. Service is popular with staff and students.
We have decided at Southampton Solent University to offer scan to email using our multifunctional printers/copiers and Papercut accounting software and will be working on this service over the summer in time for the new academic year, We will make a charge to cover the costs of the hire of the equipment. A firm price has not yet been decided but it has been suggested that as we charge 5p per sheet copying, we wouldn't want to charge more than 2p per sheet for scanning.
