THIS WEEKS EVENT
Thursday 17th March 6-8
Ben Pimlott seminar rooms, Goldsmiths
Performing with Digital Technology is a workshop/presentation of research
into Participant/Performance relationships. Hedva Eltanani's research
suggests a composition which aims to help directors, dramaturges,
designers, animators or all manner of creative performers to choose
characteristics that can be used on stage, according to a particular
audience experience. This is an attempt to present a practice based
research using a practical session. Eltanani will use the workshop format
to create short acts according to the composition suggested in the
research. Presenting the acts will lead to a discussion about the effect
digital technology has on the participant/performance relationship
specifically with performances that use digital technology as a key role.
This session follows the performance-lecture Journey of Experiences that
was presented at DRHA 2010. Keeping the theory as an integral part of the
research as well as the presentation Eltanani aims to demonstrate its
translation to practice and its significance to the various disciplines of
performance.
Hedva Eltanani is a performance practitioner who's research is into
participant/Performance relationships. Her practice combines theory and
practice using physical theatre, devised theatre and digital performances.
