Learn to set type and print on nineteenth-century hand presses: The
History and Practice of Hand Press Printing 1450-1830
The London Rare Books School and St Brides have joined together to offer
a practice-based five-day course to take place both in Bloomsbury and
just off Fleet Street in what was the heart of the London book trade
from 1500 to the 1980s. Students will be taught how to compose type,
proof, and print, and will then be given an opportunity to work on a
small-scale project of their own.
The course, which is part of the second week of LRBS, will run 4 to 8
July 2011. The course can take a maximum of 12 students, so early
booking is advised. Further information and a booking form can be found
