I'm afraid I've dropped the ball on this one and had completely forgot
to write any slides for this. I'll get onto it asap but I won't have
anything in the next 20 minutes!
A quick summary of what we use at Lancaster:
-Logwatch/syslog - but we're outgrowing this as a useful monitoring method.
-Ganglia
-Nagios
-Areca's in-built monitoring with e-mail notification
-Steve's Pages (they're an excellent summary).
-Panda monitoring.
-A cacti network weathermap built for us by the local network admins.
Our new cluster also has cacti monitoring, but we're still learning the
ropes with that one.
Our last two storage purchases have included 3ware and Adaptec
controllers respectively. We're planning on monitoring these using
nagios plugins which call the tw_cli/storman utilities rather then any
inbuilt tools.
Sorry there's no slides for this info,
Matt
