Hi,
Please see below the call for papers of the MeCCSA-PGN CFP Annual Postgraduate Conference 2011, and please note the extension of deadline!
Regards,
Arpapat
The Media, Communications and Cultural Studies Association Postgraduate Network invites submission of abstracts for its Annual Postgraduate Conference to be held on 4th and 5th of July, 2011 at Bournemouth University, Bournemouth, UK. This interdisciplinary conference, which is sponsored by ADM-HEA, gives an opportunity to Masters and PhD students, as well as early year postdoctoral researchers to share their work on any topic related to the fields of media, communication and cultural studies.
Presentations can be in the form of papers, posters, performances, films and multimedia presentations. Panel proposals are also welcome with up to four papers each. Abstracts of 200 words (for 20 minute presentations) should be mailed no later than 13 May to: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>
Please include with your abstract:
- Your name, contact details, institutional affiliation and year of study;
- Title and topic of research, including method(s) used;
- Up to five key words, which will help the reviewers classify your proposal;
- Technical requirements for the presentation;
- An indication of whether you also plan to submit a full-length article for the MeCCSA-PGN journal, Networking Knowledge.
For panels, we require a short description and rationale (200 words), in addition to the abstracts for each of the papers (200 words each). For proposals involving practice research, please ensure that you send DVD preview material (up to 5 minutes) with the abstract via post. Alternatively, include in your abstract a URL to a web-based preview of the material.
In addition to papers, the conference will also include engaging and interesting keynote and plenary lectures, as well as workshops on publishing, presenting research, and teaching. There will also be plenty of opportunity to network, including a planned beach barbecue (weather permitting) and other social events.
