Making the most of visitor and user data
Join Creating Capacity on 24 March for Visitor and user data: How to collect
and use it effectively. In this practical and inspiring session you'll
learn how to make the gather the right information on your visitors and
users so that you can meet their needs now and in the future. Do you have
visitor comment books gathering dust on your shelves? Have you got user
surveys you don't know how to use? Or are you not sure what you need to do
to find out what your visitors want from your service? Then come along and
learn and share with colleagues in the same boat. This course will help you
focus on what matters to get effective results from your marketing planning.
By the time you get back to your desk you will:
o Understand the value of research
o Understand the different types of audience research
o Be able to develop a simple research plan
o Be clear about the research needs of your own organisation
o Have a basic understanding of data analysis
o Know how to use data to inform decision making
You'll spend the day with Anita van Mil of Hopkins Van Mil and Creating
Capacity. Hopkins Van Mil is a social enterprise formed in 2005 by
Henrietta Hopkins and Anita van Mil from a desire to support strategic
working in the museum, library, archive and cultural heritage sector.
Henrietta and Anita have a long standing background in marketing,
fundraising and advocacy. Both HVM partners have BTEC Level 4 Train the
Trainer qualifications. They are Fellows of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA)
and active members of the Arts Marketing Association, the Institute of
Fundraising, the International Council of Museums (ICOM), and the Museums
Association.
Cost: £125 plus VAT including all course materials, refreshments and 3
months post-course support from Anita. The course is available to some
museums free of charge funded by Renaissance London, contact me to find out
