**Writing research proposals: introductory and follow up workshops**
Do you have a great idea for doing a piece of research, but
- have never got round to doing it?
- are not sure how to go about it?
- would like to find a way of funding it?
- would like some friendly feedback?
?. then the Library & Information Research Group has two workshops,
facilitated by successful researchers to help you.
These are being offered in various locations and will include an
introductory session aimed at those new to research and proposal writing and
a follow up for those interested in submitting a proposal and receiving
feedback.
The workshops are particularly geared to those who are interested in
submitting proposals for the LIRG Research Awards, but are also useful for
any research proposals. Closing date for the LIRG Research Awards is 13 May
2011.
The workshops are being offered in collaboration with UC&R (University of
Northampton venue), University of Leeds (Leeds venue), Career Development
Group (Scotland) (Edinburgh venue).
**Introductory workshop**
This half-day workshop will provide an introduction to writing research
proposals and give you chance to think about your ideas for research. It
will also offer ideas and tips in:
- Writing research proposals and experiences of actually conducting
the research
- Using research as evidence to support your own library / service
development - in benchmarking etc.
- What makes a good research proposal
Follow up workshop
The second half day workshop offers participants an opportunity to:
