The 8th International Summer School on Information Retrieval offers high
quality teaching on Information Retrieval and related research topics.
ESSIR is *THE* only world-wide school in Information Retrieval, with
temporal regularity founded in 1990.

Our VENUE:
Koblenz is situated in the picturesque landscape of the Rhine and Moselle
(UNESCO world heritage), known for excellent wines, romantic medieval
castles, Loreley and Goethe. Wine tasting and a river cruise to the medieval
castles of Rhine valley (Loreley rock) are part of our social program!
Koblenz has a very central position in central Europe and in Germany, with
excellent travel connections to several international airports.
ESSIR 2011 will offer a limited number of sponsored student grants for
travel and school part. The grants will cover participation in the summer
school and/or low-cost accommodation in Koblenz.
