Sitec is a design engineering and recruitment business based in Chandlers Ford, Hants. We have a long standing relationship and as such we’re a first tier supplier of contract personnel to the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE Plc) in Berkshire.
Due to the nature of this Nuclear MOD site coupled with a high level of project activity i.e. the building of several multi million new build projects we’re looking to engage a GIS Web Developer.
For the right candidate this is very much a long term opportunity paying up to £25ph, PAYE coupled with 28 days paid leave per year. (or upto 30ph being paid via a Limited Company). As agency we pay an hourly rate, for all hours worked with contracts issued every 12 months.
Successful candidates will need to gain MOD security clearance prior to commence of assignment, which take 4-8 weeks to gain.
GIS / Web Developer to join our GIS / Asset Management team.
The role entails being part of the development team that supports an enterprise level GIS system serving 4000+ clients. This system is integrated into other corporate platforms such as Oracle for Business, Infor EAM and an enterprise CAD capability. A significant portion of the role will also involve developing non-GIS web applications and services for asset management customers.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Working with Solutions Architect & Lead Developer to analyse and model user requirements
• Developing solutions to satisfy requirements
• Liaising with customers
• Working with tech author to producing documentation to support development
• Working with the GIS team by looking after the day-to-day operations of our ArcGIS server environment
• Creating Geoprocessing services to answer specific spatial queries
• Optimising Mapservices and ensuring delivery
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background of developing with ESRI ArcGIS Server, and experience of integrating GIS into enterprise level systems. The candidate will also need to have strong general web development skills and experience of utilizing large scale databases to create solutions.

• Autodesk CAD Development
• Agile project methodologies
Knowledge or experience of developing ESRI desktop products would be also is a distinct advantage.
Ideally the candidate would have a background in the utility sector, and have an understanding of asset management systems.
The candidate must be proactive team player, self motivated and able to work to tight deadlines in a multi-tasking environment. The candidate must be an excellent communicator capable of dealing with all levels of conversation and must demonstrate a calm methodical approach do dealing with problems. A degree in GIS or computer science related subject is desirable, but experience and a track record of delivery are more important.
