Sitec is a design engineering and recruitment business based in Chandlers Ford, Hants. We have a long standing relationship and as such we’re a first tier supplier of contract personnel to the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE Plc) in Berkshire.
Due to the nature of this Nuclear MOD site coupled with a high level of project activity i.e. the building of several multi million new build projects we’re looking to engage a GIS Surveyor.
For the right candidate this is very much a long term opportunity paying up to £16ph, PAYE coupled with 28 days paid leave per year. (As agency we pay an hourly rate, for all hours worked and on a weekly basis with contracts usually issued every 12 months)
Successful candidates will need to gain MOD security clearance prior to commence of assignment, which take 4-8 weeks to gain.

GIS Surveyor
Job/Role Purpose
The core responsibilities of the Asset Surveyor will be to provide survey support to the DS AISC Senior Surveyor, to contribute to overall assets configuration; to provide survey support & guidance to Major Schemes/Site Development and help maintain corporate survey site datum network.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
* Providing a topographical surveying service to DS AISC
* Gathering and verifying asset data using new mobile or traditional survey techniques
* Processing 3rd party survey data for inclusion into the corporate asset management systems
* Reviewing data returned from survey against specification.
* To ensure that I understand and apply my responsibilities with regard to the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
Qualifications
* Degree, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in survey
* Possible membership of a relevant professional body
* Relevant training in survey software
Knowledge
* Fundamental knowledge of data production principles.
* Working knowledge of Leica 1200 series GPS and total station and digital level.
* An understanding of Global Positioning systems (GPS) and their application to data capture and mobile GIS systems.
Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Good analytical and problem solving skills
* Attention to detail
