Migmatites: contemporary views and examples. 21-23 October 2011
XVIIIth annual meeting of the Petrology Group of the Mineralogical
Society of Poland will be held on October 21-23.2011, in the Tatra
Mountains. This year, the leading topic of the Meeting is the evolution
of partial melting processes: the origin and petrology of migmatites,
current understanding of their timing and pressure-temperature
estimates. Numerous key-note presentations about these intriguing and
still not fully understood problems are planned for this session. As
usually, the second day of the meeting will be covered by open session:
participants are welcome to present their on-going research in various
fields of petrology, geochemistry and mineralogy. At the end of the
meeting, the fieldtrip to the Tatra Mountains is planned. We will show
participants the most interesting examples of high grade rocks on both,
Polish and Slovak sites of the mountains.
We are looking forward to see you in Tatra!
