Thank you to everyone who responded to my question on the maximum length of digital file titles and my request for advice on file naming conventions.
Here is a summary of the advice and links to resources.
Maximum Length of File Titles: In windows there is a limit of 256 characters for file paths. The file path includes the name of your network and each folder leading to the file.
However the general advice is to keep the file titles short, avoid spaces (use underscore or a hyphen instead) and avoid symbols.
