Salary Level 8: A$81,250 - A$91,545 per year, plus 17% employer
superannuation plus leave loading.
The Australian Centre for Commercial Mathematics (ACCM) is a newly created
centre in the School of Mathematics & Statistics. Its mission is to
conduct projects with industry to solve complex problems using advanced
mathematics and statistics. The Centre is seeking to appoint two talented
individuals with experience in statistical and consulting to private
industry or government to join its team. This is a great opportunity to be
involved in projects which have research value in terms of novel
applications of mathematics, as well as commercial value to the client.
To be considered for the position, you should have a minimum Masters in
Statistics or Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or equivalent
qualification in a quantitative field such as mathematics or engineering;
experience in statistical and consulting to private industry or government
to medium to large-scale projects; strong computational skill;
demonstrated project management and strong analytical skills; demonstrated
ability to manage competing priorities and excellent time management
skills; demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary
team environment and liaise with associates of diverse background; and an
excellent oral and written communication skills suitable to the Australian
business environment.
This is a full time position, fixed term for two years.
