Thanks for the advice.... I was using Sennheiser head phones and the
sound chip on a Toshiba is expletive inserted here of your own choice,
even with the mixer tweaks. The MP3 was over the internet and basically
too contracted for a second B above middle C and this was a Steinway.
(One of the more difficult piano works to play I will admit... not that
I could even do a C major scale.)
Anyway, I put a set of JBL monitors on my micro Sony Hi-Fi and have
spent the day happily listening to Mingus, Shepp, Coltrane, (trying to
train myself not to cry when I hear Giant Steps; absent friend)..... but
quite happy.
